> It's probably a bit weird to observe creatures of habit (2026.06.15)
There's a Korean supermarket near my place and I often go for a few things: Melona ice pop, Buldak 2x spicy zzaldduk, konjac jelly drink, Kewpie mayo (Hijikata banzai!!!) and crispy seaweed bits (on the rare occasion, maybe dry noodles, enoki mushrooms, sesame oil and black sesame powder). It's just a corner shop and don't expect the sheer variety of a Mega Donki. I would love to buy more, but there's just nothing else I want to buy. Today, after work, I stopped by for treats and the owner said "No seaweed today?", and I almost felt bad for not buying seaweed today. She also felt the need to check whether I got the new flavor for the konjac jelly drink because she mentioned that the other day. This is not the first time people have picked up my consumption habits, in 2024, the baker near my place always gave me to sunflower seed bread rolls without me uttering a single word (then they had to ruin a good thing and discontinue that bread roll), in 2019, the bakery workers in Gallus just gave me an egg sandwich when I showed up, same with KL Sentral McDonalds in 2018 - the same set, i.e. egg McMuffin and hash brown, and Lillian Penson Hall in 2015 and 2016, seven hash browns. The workers must be thinking, look it's the hash brown freak again. It's not like I refuse to try new things for breakfast, it's that I can eat the same breakfast for several years in a row.
