> (BONUS) Some rules are put in place to make people seem more civilized than they really are (2025.12.22)
I know I sound like a broken record, but I simply don't understand how people are able to navigate complex social hierarchies, traditions and rituals while unable to use their basic senses for the so-called greater good. The lack of spatial and scent awareness on the S1 train is so palpable that you wonder whether there is any civilization. Someone stuck their foot out on the aisle (THE AISLE) and can see me coming from far but still wouldn't get their damn foot out of the way. I shouldn't need to ask, that person has eyes. The probability of tripping (and also hurting the stupid owner of that foot) is so high that it's basically a Pareto improvement to remove the damn foot. Also, the smell... it's an assault to everyone's nose. So, yeah, people are experts at networking, putting on a sociable mask at work, virtue signalling etc, but unable to just use primitive instinct to improve welfare.Â
