> Standing normally in a concert feels awkward (2025.10.27)
I was at a Wind Rose concert last Wednesday and they're a dwarf metal band, and we know dwarves mine a lot. In Wind Rose concerts, many people bring inflatable pick axes, because we're all dwarves, right? I brought one too. During the concert, people with pick axes mimicked a mining motion. I tried it out but it feels awkward. I don't really feel like a dwarf or a miner. Another thing you can do in metal concerts is raise your fists up like a rebel or warrior. I get the rebel thing although I rebel differently. I don't feel like a warrior either. It's natural for me to stand and nod my head along, but when everyone else is so excited and the band keeps urging people to be more active, then you're weird for not doing anything. Also, when raising the axe, I'm more concerned about blocking someone's view or hitting someone. The concert just didn't feel that energetic to me. When I went to Babymetal, I had the instant urge to copy Babymetal dances because it was so mesmerizing although people did the standard fists and horns. Maybe I should just be awkward and do whatever instead of succumbing to peer pressure.
